Dandelions Take Over Ottawa

It was one of those beautiful, not-raining days in Ottawa. For the first time in my life, I understood why people take the time to actually pick the dandelions out of their lawns.

Entirely disregarding the ongoing horticultural invasion, the Vances set off to enjoy Tanglewood Park.

Robyn dodges the 'lions to the left and right, while Chrissy heroically risks her life to offer refuge from the wild and untameable growth.

Janna, with a warlike cry, violently decapitates one of the invaders by swooshing down from above in her attack harness.

Robyn prepares to wreak vengeance on the attackers as she launches down the emergency chute.

Fortunately, we made it to and from the park unscathed, apart from a mild case of the sneezes. The battle, however, is far from over. As everyone who has ever owned a lawn knows, you never really defeat the dandelions. They always come back...
